Scope of application of media bottles
Media bottle is a special packaging made of transparent polyester (PET/PETG) raw material with organic solvent added through injection stretch blow production process. In order to facilitate holding, the shape of the bottle is generally square, and the bottle body is marked with a scale. So, what are the main applications of media bottles?
1. Serum storage: Storage of serum is an important application of media bottles. Serum is a complex mixture formed by removing fibrinogen from plasma and should be stored at -5°C to -20°C. If stored at 4°C, it should not exceed one month. If one bottle cannot be used up at a time, it is recommended to aseptically aliquot the serum into an appropriate sterilized container and put it back into the freezer.
2. Medium storage and preparation: Medium is an artificially formulated nutrient for the growth and maintenance of microorganisms, plants and animal tissues, generally containing water, nitrogen sources, inorganic salts (including trace elements), carbon sources, Growth factors (vitamins, amino acids, bases, antibiotics, pigments, hormones and serum, etc.).
3. Buffer: When a certain amount of acid and alkali is added to some solutions, or a small amount of water is added to dilute, the solution has the effect of hindering the pH change of the solution, which is called buffering. Such a solution is called a buffer solution. The media bottle body has a scale, which is easy to observe the volume of the solution. The special square design is ergonomic and easy to grasp.
The above are the three application fields of the media bottle. The polyester raw material has good low temperature resistance and does not react to most acid and alkali solvents. These advantages also make the application range of the media bottle wider.
